Full Coverage of Digital Transformation 1.0 Achieved Across the Industry: Longquan’s Traditional Auto Parts Industry Realizes All-Round Revitalization

Yesterday, inside the intelligent factory of Zhejiang Santian Automotive Air Conditioning Compressor Co., Ltd. located in Longquan Economic Development Zone, automated equipment operated in an orderly manner, and compressors took shape on the production line. Lin Jian, General Manager of the company, stated that the newly put into use intelligent technological transformation project for an annual output of 100,000 sets of compressor assemblies for automotive air conditioning thermal management systems has brought strong momentum to the enterprise. Up to now, the company has achieved an industrial output value of 820 million yuan, with new orders increasing by 32% year-on-year.

With the rapid popularization of new energy vehicles (NEVs) and intelligent connected technology, the innovation and upgrading of the traditional auto parts industry is imminent. In recent years, Longquan has faced this urgent challenge head-on, focusing on innovation-driven development, transformation and upgrading, and chain-based development. Over 200 traditional auto parts enterprises have implemented a number of endogenous fission projects, achieving full coverage of digital transformation 1.0 in the industry. From January to August this year, the industrial output value of Longquan's auto parts industry (enterprises above designated size) reached 3.72 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26.8%; 5 enterprises have been cultivated as national-level specialized, sophisticated, distinctive and innovative "little giant" enterprises, and more than 80% of enterprises above designated size are national high-tech enterprises, forming a solid echelon of high-quality enterprises.

In the process of "endogenous fission", Longquan has taken platforms, technology and talents as the focal points to synergistically promote the fission development of the auto parts industry. In addition to increasing investment in technological R&D and building enterprise service platforms, Longquan has tackled 26 industrial technical problems through the talent "challenge and leadership" mechanism, established an Automotive Air Conditioning Industry College, cultivated more than 300 industrial talents through the "integration of industry and education + integration of technical education and skill training" model, and built 9 postdoctoral research workstations, laying a solid foundation for innovation breakthroughs.

At the same time, taking digitalization, intellectualization and greenization as the paths, Longquan has built a gradient cultivation system by promoting the "industrial brain + future factory" model. Zhejiang Shuolang Electromechanical Parts Co., Ltd. has invested more than 30 million yuan in building workshops and a digital factory, striving to march towards the goal of a "future factory". In addition, Longquan has strengthened precision investment promotion through the "industrial chain + chain chief system", forcing the upgrading of technological transformation. In 2024, 10 projects with a total investment of over 100 million yuan were newly settled in Longquan, among which the Geely Intelligent Thermal Management Project with a total investment of 2.1 billion yuan filled the gap in the integrated module field; nearly 3/4 of enterprises above designated size have implemented endogenous fission technological transformation, rejuvenating the traditional industry.

Benefiting from the outstanding achievements of "endogenous fission" in the auto parts industry, not long ago, Longquan City's "Three Focuses to Boost Endogenous Fission of Traditional Auto Parts Industry" was successfully selected into the list of typical cases (the second batch) for cultivating and developing new quality productive forces through endogenous fission of traditional industries in Zhejiang Province, announced by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology. It also became the only "government-side" case selected from Lishui City this time. "This selection is a high recognition of the strength and innovative spirit of Longquan's traditional auto parts industry, and also points out the direction for the future technological upgrading of the new energy thermal management industry, effectively promoting the accelerated development of the industry towards higher efficiency, greater safety and smarter direction," said Ye Biwen, Secretary-General of the Longquan Automotive Parts and Thermal Management Industry Association.
